Lydia Susan Cole Harris, 70, of Hollywood, FL, passed away February 9, 2026, surrounded by love, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family.
Lydia was a woman who welcomed everyone. Her home and her heart were always open. She had a playful, silly sense of humor and a way of making people feel instantly comfortable. Whether she was sharing a laugh or simply sitting at the kitchen table talking, she made ordinary moments feel special.
She loved cooking and was always sending recipes, passing along little pieces of love through handwritten notes, phone calls, and shared meals. She had an incredible gift with plants — she could grow anything. Her knowledge, patience, and nurturing spirit were evident in every garden she tended and every life she touched.
Above all, Lydia was so proud to be “Grammy.” She was happiest when she was with her grandchildren, and she answered the phone in her own silly, playful way — a greeting that instantly made you smile and reminded you that you were loved. That familiar, lighthearted hello is something her family will cherish forever.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Brian, as well as her two angel grandchildren, Baby Charlie and Gavin.
She is survived by her three children: Sara, Emily, and Charlie; and her four cherished grandchildren, Olivia, Hendrix, Kameron, and Rowan. Her love for each of them was immeasurable and unconditional.
Though our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing her love will continue to grow in us, just like the beautiful plants she nurtured so effortlessly. Her laughter, her recipes, her welcoming spirit, and her playful “Grammy” voice will live on in our memories forever.

Sara, Emily and Charles, I am very sorry to hear about the passing of your mom. My mom, Sheila, told me and I wanted to send our condolences to you all. Your mom was very special- when she came into Uncle Brian’s life, he was changed by her love. They had something very special. I also have memories of how welcoming she was when we visited- I remember the old rock playing jn the background and anything she made was delicious. I also remember how she made her house a home with all the plants that she was gifted with growing. There are no words that can ease your grief, but I pray you are comforted by your memories of her. May she rest in peace. Love Stacey Chaplic
