Margarita Altagracia Capellan (93) passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 17th, 2019 surrounded by her loving family.
Originally from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, Margarita moved to New York at the age of 21 ready to take on the world. After years of hard work perfecting her craft as a seamstress (specializing in wedding dresses), she and her family relocated to sunny South Florida where she continued her love for designing beautiful dresses.
Margarita was an amazing mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved to cook, but not as much as she loved to travel (covering every continent except two). She was the matriarch of the family and known as the favorite Auntie to all.
She is survived by her son Juan Alberto Capellan Jr. (Rehana), daughter Dania Capellan (Junior – “Partner in Crime”), daughter Liceliz Capellan, granddaughter Camille Jorge (Ryan), granddaughter Katerina Vollten (Nicholas), grandson Jerris Jacobs (Shameka), and six great-grandchildren.
A Public Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 19th, 2019 from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm with a “Tributes of a Lifetime” scheduled for 2:00 pm. All services will be held at the Boyd-Panciera Hollywood Chapel located at 6400 Hollywood Blvd, Hollywood, FL 33024.

I'm so sad to hear of the passing of this lovely lady. I've been friends with Lici since first grade. I always remember her mom's smile. She made me the greatest witch costume, and I wore it for years in to adulthood ! I know she'll be truly missed. I'm praying that God will comfort you all today, and in the days to come.
