Mariela Alonso, 89, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2026 surrounded by the love of her family.
She lived a life defined by joy, kindness, and an unwavering love for her children. Mariela had a naturally happy spirit—she found reasons to smile even in the smallest moments and shared that light with everyone around her. Her laughter was comforting, her presence uplifting, and her heart always open. Whether through her words, her hugs, or the little things she did every day, she showed her love in ways that will never be forgotten.
Mariela believed in enjoying life as it came. She cherished time together with her family, created countless memories filled with warmth and laughter, and left behind a legacy of happiness that will continue to live on through those who knew and loved her.
She lived a life full of movement, memories, and meaning. She had many homes over the years, but wherever she went, she made each place warm, welcoming, and filled with love. To her, a house wasn’t just walls—it was where laughter lived and family gathered.
She had a special joy for simple treasures, especially her trips to flea markets. She could find beauty and value in things others might overlook, always coming home with something unique and a story to go with it. That was just who she was—someone who saw joy in the little things.
Mariela loved to listen to old music, the kind that brings back memories and makes your heart feel full. You could often find her listening, smiling, maybe even humming along. And if there was one thing everyone will always remember, it’s her laughter. She laughed easily, freely, and often—at stories, at moments, at life itself. Her laughter was contagious and could light up any room.
She taught us that life isn’t about staying in one place, but about the love we carry with us wherever we go. Her joy, her warmth, and her beautiful spirit will live on in all of us.
She will be remembered for her warm smile, her love of gardening, and the way she made every holiday feel magical. Her home was always open, and her family was always her greatest joy.
