Metro, Marilyn, of Pembroke Pines, FL. Marilyn was a teacher for the Miami-Dade School Board. Will be remembered by her former husband Marvin Chapman. Marilyn Metro, 63 years young, beloved child, sister, mother, cousin, teacher and friend, died suddenly in her home from an aneurism on Saturday, October 3, 2015. As her death was sudden, there was no pain or worry. Marilyn was born and raised in New Jersey and was the oldest of six children, born to Adeline and Victor Metro. She has lived in Florida since 1981 where she raised three children, Carlos, Alejandro and Nico. Marilyn was very family-oriented. She moved to Florida to live close to her sister Beverly. Not only did they live only a few miles from one another, but also both worked as teachers in the same school, Bunche Park Elementary, for many years. She loved her students and found enjoyment in helping them learn. Marilyn lived her life exactly as she wanted with no apologies and wanted others to do the same. In her life, those that she was most proud of are her three sons; she loving called them “My Three Sons” from a TV show. She looked forward to Sundays, because they all gathered at her place, she cooked dinner and they watched TV while having family time and making wonderful memories. Marilyn was preceded in death by her father, Victor Metro. She is survived by her mother, children, siblings, and all that knew and loved her. Marilyn truly possessed a “je ne sais quois”; if you don’t think so, remember her pink car. If you knew her, take a few minutes to try to describe her. She was one of a kind and although she has left her body, her essence will be with all of us forever. A memorial service will be held at Boyd/Panciera Family Funeral Care, 6400 Hollywood Blvd. Friends may visit from 5-7PM, Saturday. A Tribute Of A Life Time Service will be conducted 5:30 PM, Saturday, October 1.

Marilyn was an “Angel” that touched the lives of so many people at Bunche Park Elementary. She was so kind, loving and dedicated to her little ones. I recieved many of her Pre-K students into my kindergarten class. Each year, she spoiled me by sending them so prepared. Words can not express how much we will miss her. I do know her beautiful spirit of love will always be with us.
