Marjorie W. Veerkamp

July 31, 1933~December 15, 2012

Marjorie W. Veerkamp 79 of Pembroke Pines, FL. She was born in Houston, Texas on July 31, 1933 and departed on Dec. 15, 2012, with her three children by her side. She is survived by her daughter Sofia and husband Leigh Markert, her son Ernie Sariol, her son Bill Sariol and his wife Shelly all of Florida, 6 grand children Michele Osborne and her husband Jeff and Jennifer Warren and her husband Will of Texas, Alan and Jared Sariol, Samantha and Ernie Sariol of Florida, 4 great grandchildren Justin and Sara Osborne, Dub and Ruby Warren of Texas and her sister Leila Winstead Brooks of Texas.
Marjorie was an avid dog lover and in particular she loved Dobermans and Tibetan Terriers. She was the president and a member of those clubs for many years and is beloved by all in those organizations. She will always be known for having a huge heart for all animals, and always had a home full of them, dogs, cats, snakes, turtles even a skunk and a opossum. She couldn’t say no! That didn’t only apply to animals. She was known as Mrs. Mom to most of our friends and neighbors and always had an open house for family and friends who didn’t have a place to stay. There was hardly a time where we didn’t have someone other than family living in her house. To sum it all up Marjorie AKA: Marge, Large Marge, Mrs. Mom, La Americana and we can’t forget Witch Marge was a larger than life character with a huge heart that will never be forgotten by anyone who met her. A Memorial Service will be held this evening, Friday Dec 21 at Boyd-Panciera University Drive Chapel at 7:30 PM with a gathering beginning at 6:00 PM.

Marge changed my life forever when she gave me my first purebred,

a five year old Tibetan Terrier, “Raskel”, who got me addicted to TTs and into the dog show world.

I also grew to consider her a close friend who was in many ways a social worker, helping those in need. Her family extends well beyond blood relatives. She will be missed….

I met Marge because of our shared joy in Tibetan Terriers. She was quite knowledgeable and truly an avid defender of the breed. She is truly a loss.

We have very fond memories of Marge when we showed our TT’s in Florida in the 90’s and during the Orlando National in 1992. She was a “larger than life” lady!

Personally and on behalf of the Board and membership of the Tibetan Terrier Club of America, I want to exrend our sincere condolences to Marge’s family and many friends.

Marge will live in our hearts forever…her kindness and care provided us one of the most beautiful TT’s…my very first one. It is with great sadness, we say good=bye.
