Mark Anthony Minott was born in Brooklyn, New York on November 16, 1967 to Peola and Gilbert Minott. He was the eldest of 3 siblings. Mark received his formal education at P.S. 244, Meyer Levin Junior High School and Westinghouse High School while growing up in Brooklyn, New York. After high school Mark went on to serve his country for 7 years in the United States Army. Mark returned from the military to rejoin his parents in Sunrise, Florida where he served in the reserves for an additional 4 years. It was there where he met the love of his life Ann Lucas in 1993. In 1997, the two were married. The union resulted in two children, Kayla and Robert.
Mark was a devoted father and adored all children. The children in his life, nieces, nephews, godchildren and children of friends called him their ?Poppa Bear?. Mark always believed that even the littlest people should have a voice.
Mark always had a plan. He always had something on his mind. Even as a child, he planned. It usually ended up with us getting in trouble, but the plan always sounded good at the time. Growing up he was always taking something apart even if nothing was wrong with it just to see how it works. If you had it and it was broken, he would gladly take it off your hands and fix it. Who would have thought that later on in life, this would have become his chosen career path. Mark graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology in 2002. It didn?t stop there. Mark went on to land a job with the Broward Sheriff’s Office as a Computer Technician/Analyst.
On the morning of July 5th, 2006 on his way to work, Mark was taken from us in an unexpected, life altering accident.
He leaves behind wife Ann, daughter Kayla, son Robert, Mother Peola, brothers Serge and Christopher, Mother-in-Law, Melvina and Father-in-Law Terence and a host of relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.

Around the corner I have a friend,In this great city that has no end,Yet the days go by and weeks rush on,And before I know it, a year is gone. And I never see my old friends face,For life is a swift and terrible race,He knows I like him just as well,As in the days when I rang his bell. And he rang mine but we were younger then,And now we are busy, tired men.Tired of playing a foolish game,Tired of trying to make a name.”Tomorrow” I say! “I will call on him. Just to show that I’m thinking of him.”But tomorrow comes and tomorrow goes,And distance between us grows and grows.Around the corner, yet miles away Around the corner, a vanished friend.Remember to always say what you mean. If you love someone, tell them.Don’t be afraid to express yourself.Reach out and tell someone what they mean to you.Because when you decide that it is the right time it might be too late.Mark I will surely miss you.

I would like to extend my condolences to the entire Minott family. Mark and I worked together at Motorola for several years. Unfortunately, we lost touch over the years, but I was deeply saddened by the news of his passing. He was always a pleasant face to see. Always had a kind word and always made you smile. Once again I am so very sorry for your loss. My GOD give you peace in this time of need.
