Of Pembroke Pines, FL passed away March 8, 2021 at 96. Born on Staten Island, NY she was one of 13 children to Joseph and Lucy Marino.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband Frank Girello Sr.. She is survived by her four children Paul (wife Christine), Frank Jr. (wife Bernadette), twins Rose (husband Paul) and Lucille (husband Charles). Eight Grandchildren: Paul, Michael, Caroline, Kelly, April, Nicole, Adam and Elizabeth. There are also 12 Great Grandchildren.
After high school where she excelled as a homemaker and dress designer, Mary pursued work as a dress maker. Later in life, she opened her own store “Mary Elizabeth’s” where she quickly became known for doing quality work.
Later, after a move to Albuquerque, N.M., she started a passion for quilting. There, she taught classes and produced several quality quilts. After several years, she moved back East to N.J.. There, she continued to teach quilting at her senior center. Besides sewing, Mary was an avid reader and baker. Christmas presents to her children were Mary baking hundreds of different cookies and sending big tins full to each. Mary also took joy in sending a card for every occasion to all the children, grandchildren and great greatgrandchildren.
There will be a Mass said for Mary at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, Staten Island, on May 9th at 9:00am.
