Michael Joseph Cates, age 81 of Cooper City, Florida passed away at his residence on Tuesday, February 18, 2020. He was born in Miami, Florida on Sunday, March 27, 1938.

He is survived by his wife of over 25 years: Wendy Cates; sons: Darryl (Leah) Cates and Greg (Carol) Cates; step-daughter: Stacie (Jason) Swartz; grandchildren: Kaycee (Craig) Borden, Sarah (J.D.) Woods, Dustin Cates, Amber (Steven) Cabrera, Brent Cates, Delanie Swartz and Daniel Swartz; great-grandchildren: Anthony, Addison, Isabella, Skylar & David; brother: Bill (Isabel) Cates; nephews: David Cates and William Cates and niece: Michelle Cates.
