Michael Massa
March 21,1955 – March 19, 1926
Michael (Michele his Italian name) (AKA Mike) Massa of Old Fort, North Carolina formerly from Naples, Florida for over 35 years has with deep sadness passed.
Michele was born on the 21st day of March 1955 at his family’s small farmhouse in Palomonte, Italy. Michele at the age of 3 and his sister (Maria) , his mother and his father immigrated to America and lived in Staten Island, NY many years. Mike moved to Naples, Florida in his late twenties to start a business.
Mike is preceded in death by his sister Maria, mother Carmela Parisi Massa, wife Corrine Savukas, grandparents, aunts and uncles. Mike is survived by his father, Vito Massa, his sister in-laws Francine Gates and Valerie Hemvertson, Partner (significant other) Patricia Bruce, God sons and daughters, , nephews and close cousins.
Mike always enjoyed the outdoors. He helped to manage the family’s summer resort, The Broken Wheel Ranch, in the mountains of New York before moving to Florida. He retired from the air conditioning business to camp and do cross country driving with Patti as much as he wanted. He enjoyed all sports and was very good at organizing and playing poker. Though Mike never had children, he was very patient and caring for his family’s children and was known as Uncle Mike. He was also known to help everyone and to be the first to “show up” when needed.
His visitation service will be held at Boyd Panciera Family Funeral care, located at 1600 N. University Drive, Pembroke Pines FL. on Wednesday 25th of March from 6-9pm.
Funeral Mass will be on Thursday, March 26th at Saint David’s Catholic Church, located at 3900 N. University Drive, Davie at 4:00 PM.

Mike came into my life as a neighbor, with a puppy who quickly became part of our daily routine. What started as simple walks with Ella and Brody turned into a meaningful friendship I will always treasure. Those walks were filled with laughter, conversations, and a sense of comfort that only someone truly kind can bring.
Mike was the kind of person who showed up. When my own family experienced loss, he was there; steady, supportive, and generous with his time and heart. That is who he was at his core.
It brought me so much joy to see him meet Patti and build a beautiful life together. Their love was something special—full of adventure, companionship, and genuine happiness. Watching them enjoy life and travel the country together was a gift in itself.
Mike will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. His kindness, friendship, and presence left a lasting mark on my life.
I like to imagine Ella and Maggie Mae now walking alongside Mr. Mike in heaven – surrounded by peace, beauty, and the love they all deserve.
