December 15, 1961~January 04, 2015

Mike Robiou, 53 years old passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2014, at his sister’s home surrounded by family and great friends. Mike was a wonderful brother, uncle, son and fantastic friend to many who called him “Uncle Mike”. He is predeceased by his father. He left behind his mother, older brother, younger sister, nephew and two nieces and many friends he called family.

He loved going camping in his RV which we all called The Honey. We have many great memories from our camping trips together, which will forever be cherished. Every trip Mike would be waiting for us with his sausage, peppers, potato bread with the baked beans and the homemade brownies that the kids will never forget.

Mike exercised routinely. He was in bicycle races since he was in high school. He completed a tri athelon, marathon and a few half marathons one of which his sister and niece, Bianca, were proud to be a part of.

He enjoyed cooking and graduated with his Bachelor’s in Hospitality Management from Florida International University.

He always worked in the restaurant field from his early years as helper in the kitchen of Tuttles in Miami to his last days of work at Jikos in the Animal Kingdom Lodge in Orlando, Florida for 12 years until this unfortunate beast called GBM came into our world. He had two brain surgeries and fought hard for two years and five months.

Mike first moved away from his childhood home in North Miami Beach to Dothan, Alabama. From there he moved to Atlanta, Georgia then Sarasota, Florida back to Miami and then ultimately he bought a home in Poinciana Florida where he enjoyed taking care of his lawn and all his beautiful plants.

His favorite home away from home was his slice of paradise that he called Mayo. He grew up going there with his friends family and grew to love it so much that he bought his only little lot and where his ashes will be spread.

Mike will forever be in our hearts. The kindest and most honorable person you could ever know. Mike was always willing to help someone out. He gave of himself unselfishly. He loved life and every day was a beautiful day to him even when he got sick.

Thank you to everyone who was a part of Mike’s life. Especially those that were there for him til the very end.

We will miss his peace signs and his infectious smile deeply.

Mike, I miss you so much already and it’s only been a few days. My life will never be the same without you in it. You meant the world to me and I loved you very much, but you knew that cause I told you just how much everyday. I hope I did everything the way you wanted. Thank you for all the great memories and for everything that you did and have done for me and the kids. I hope you are running freely now. I love you and will miss you so much my dear brother! Peace! xoxoxo

Uncle Mike, you were the greatest man I ever knew and ever will know. You made me who I am today and for that I am extremely thankful. Everything that I do that I love in my life is because YOU introduced it to me. I will try my best to carry on your worry free and financially satisfied lifestyle. I will continue to do everything we used to do together, it will keep my memories of you strong. The rest of my life is definitely going to have crappy parts without you being here every day but I will try my best to work through them. I love you and I will miss you forever.

Your niece, your health partner.
