The second of two children, Phyllis Cox known to some as Lady Phyllis was born on April 07, 1923 in St. Elizabeth Jamaica to Rhoda Parchment and Edwin Cox.
Phyllis met and married Fred Myers August 26, 1945. She is the loving mother of seven children. Errol, Fellhue Bill, Leroy, Raymond deceased Fred Jr. Louie, Michael, Little Debbie Queenie. Phyllis lived a simple life and was dedicated her to her family and her faith. In Jamaica she lived in Old Harbor Bay, St. Catherine Jamaica where she cared for her children and many other family members. She not only cared for, fed and raised her children and grandchildren but she also cared for many other children in the lane. Her home was always open to anyone in need of food, shelter or clothing. No one could come to her home and leave hungry. In addition to her family and others Phyllis loved her faith and spent many hours devoted to spreading the good news and the truth of Jehovah God. Beginning in 1954 she began traveling with her husband to England where she lived for six 6 years, and Los Angeles California where she lived for three 3 years before moving to Florida where she resided for the remainder of her life. In addition to her work inside the home Phyllis also worked outside the home in England where she worked for FORD motor company and in the United States where she was a dedicated caregiver. Phyllis brought the same caring sprit to Florida where she continued care for her family, live her simple philosophy of a “soft answer turn eth away wrath”, “Word is Wind” and practice her faith. Anyone who knew her only had one thing to say Mrs. Phyllis was a nice lady who always made me feel welcomed and at home. Phyllis is survived by Fred Myers her husband of sixty-seven years 67; her children: Errol, Fellhue Bill, Leroy, Fred Jr. Lowie, Michael, Debbie Queenie. She also leaves a legacy of 19 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. Phyllis Myers was a beautiful woman with a caring heart. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 17, 2013, from 9-11 a.m. at Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care, University Drive Chapel.

My condolences to the Myers family. May you find comfort from God’s word recorded at Ecclesiastes 9:5&10 regarding the loss of your loved one, it show how she is in no pain, she is like in a deep sleep, hoping to be brought back to life soon.
