Rafael Echavarria, 84, a resident of Hollywood, Florida, passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2018, at Catholic Hospice in Hialeah Gardens, following a brief illness.  Born and raised in Bani, Dominican Republic, one of eleven children born to the late Mariano and Julia Echavarria.  After graduating High School, he joined the Armed Forces in Dominican Republic and proudly served until his retirement.  Rafael leaves his wife of 60 years, Mercedes (Castillo) Echavarria ; and by many Echavarria and Castillo family members.  Visitation will take place on Friday, November 16th, from 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM at Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care, University Drive Chapel. Funeral Service will begin at 7:00 PM.
