Bob met the love of his life, Margaret “Peggy” McColgan, on Fort Lauderdale Beach during spring break. Their romance continued across the miles between Peggy’s home in Ohio and Bob’s home in New Jersey before they married in 1963. They began their married life in Melbourne, Florida, and later made their home in Hallandale Beach, where they lived together in the same home for 53 years. For 62 years, Bob and Peggy shared a life filled with love, family, and lasting memories.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Peggy McColgan; his son, David McColgan, and daughter-in-law, Andie McColgan, and their children, Katie McColgan, Daniel McColgan, and Ben McColgan; and his daughter, Cindy Williams, and son-in-law, Dave Williams, and their children, Meghan Williams and Sean Williams.

A dedicated professional, he was a Life Member of the American Water Works Association, Florida Section, and a member of the Florida Water and Pollution Control Operators Association and the Florida Water Environment Association. His commitment to helping others continued well into retirement, when he remained active in volunteer and community efforts, generously sharing his knowledge and time with public-health-related causes.
Bob will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his lifelong service to others, and the meaningful difference he made in the communities he served. He will be laid to rest at a private family graveside service at Fort Lauderdale Memorial Park.
