Donaldson, Robert Lee, 81, of Pembroke Pines passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2008. Born in Register, Georgia to Lester and Cora Woods Donaldson. He enlisted in the Navy at age 17 during WWII and was stationed on the USS CLARENCE L. EVANS Destroyer Escort which sank a German Submarine in the English Channel. After the war he entered the Navy Reserves and moved to Opa Locka, Florida. In 1946 he married Dorothy Kuhn, and their first child , John was born the following year. They moved to Hialeah where sons David and Ray were born, and later Bob was transferred to Lakehurst, NJ where daughter Lisa was born. After retiring as a first class parachute rigger from the Navy, the family moved back to Hialeah, where Bob began working in Pest Control. During this time he passed the state pest control examination and organized his own business, Uncle Bob’s Pest Control. He is survived by 4 children; John, Barbara, Raymond, Cathie, David and Elisa Phelps; 2 brothers, Calvin and Eugene; 7 grandchildren, Ryan, Sarah, Adam, Preston, Jason, David and Jeff. 2 great grandchildren, Skylar and Raelynne. Bob lives on through the love and devotion of his children and grandchildren. Friends may visit from 1:00 PM, Saturday at Boyd’s University Dr. Chapel. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, Nov. 29, at Boyd’s University Dr. Chapel.
