Laura and myself extend our deepest sympathy & love to Lois, Debbie, Ron Jr., Donna & their families in S. Fla. Funny how so many memories only pop up when a loved one passes away. So many great ones with my brother. My first HS football game, ( Long Branch Green Wave), First drive-In movie, Doo-Wop, Peanut butter for breakfast, Crabbing in N.J., Bass fishing & bait casting lessons, Many New Year eves with him & Lois. Helping with the paper to get on the water early. Nighttime tourneys on the Alley. Canes football. A great 10 day fishing trip to Canada where I got to be the guide. Our sense of humor ran on the same page. Although we lived miles apart for much of our lives, our relationship was wonderful. Never a cross word. Thank you my brother for many great times
I hope they have soft shell crabs in Haven.
Tight lines Bro until we see each other again, and throw that bottle of Aramis cologne down the drain.
Your brother Steve.

Ah, Mr Warner, what can I say: you were a good friend, & loving husband & father. You were funny, when my family moved to Lake Forest you and Mrs Warner were very helpful to our family. I befriended your daughter Debbie, & my sister became life long friends with your daughter Donna. I remember spending everyday at your house sitting on that corner, going to church with you and helping with paper route. You and my dad became great friends working together, doing Boy Scouts & camping. Your family has been apart of our family for many years. You were so funny, singing. Always singing and happy. Thank you Mr Warner for your friendship and comic relief over the years. Rest In Peace sir.

It is with great sadness that I learned of the death of Ron Warner. He was always “Mister Warner” to me and without his wonderful involvement in my early life; it’s fair to say I would not be the man I am today.
Mr. Warner was my Scout Master and I was his only Scout to earn the Eagle Scout rank. His patience and compassion helped guide me through those troubling teenage years where without his mentorship I would not have survived South Florida in the 1970’s. On many long drives to and from camping trips we would discuss life and debate outcomes.
I earned my Fishing Merit Badge with him as my merit badge counselor. One of the requirements was to catch four (4) edible freshwater fish. He was not a pushover and required utmost mastery of skills, as opposed to a familiarization. We debated over whether a freshwater gar constituted an edible fish or not and I was able to prove my point that it was – only after catching, cleaning, and eating it (without dying)!
The leadership and social skills taught to me by Mr. Warner helped me transition as a Sailor in the United States Navy where I served over 22+ years. I retired as a Navy Chief. Indeed, Mr. Warner’s wisdom has served me very well.
I’ve enjoyed a wonderful life, in no small part to him. He always told me to strive to do better, to gain education, to respect Nature, and always give people an opportunity.
THANK YOU Mr. Warner,
Rest in Peace Sir

What to say about a man who was much loved by family and friends. He was a great family man, loved his wife and his family very much. I spent so many days and nights at his house, especially Liver and Onion night at my house when I begged he and Lois if I could stay for dinner. Of course they let me. He was always singing, in the shower about how good-looking he was and when he was cooking, singing Mama’s little baby loves Shortening bread. He was a hoot, right up until the end. I remember going to the beach and Church with him and his family. For Lois, Donna, Ronnie and Debbie, and all of the Grands and Great Grands, my heart goes out to you at this really difficult time. Mr. Warner, please say hi to my Mom and Dad for me. Thanks for being a surrogate Dad to me after I lost my own. Rest in Peace big guy, and I hope you catch all the fish you can up there in heaven.

My Pop Pop man how I miss you. All the calls I would get to help you out with the little things as you got older. I could never forget going on the paper route with you and having the old lady yelling at us about what your have the paper in. Not a day goes by that I don’t miss you. You were to some a mean grumpy man but to me you were my pop the mean grumpy old man my pain in the butt. I prayed that God wouldn’t take you that night but for his reasons he did. You time here on earth had ended and now your in Heaven with your girls. Kiss them both for me. Until our time comes to meet again watch over all of us keep us strong!!!! Love you to the moon and beyond

I’ll share a memory of Mr Warner with y’all. I use to do a lot of night fishing in the Everglades. If I would see a boat light I knew it was Mr Warner either with my cousin,Mark Hewlett or with his son Ronnie. I would always pull up and chat with him in hopes he would give me one of his well kept fishing secrets. This particular night the mosquitoes where bigger and hungrier than normal. I couldn’t take it anymore I was headed to the house. On my way I see a boat light and knew who it was. I stop and tell Mr Warner I’m done I can’t take this damn mosquitoes any more. He laughs and after talking with him for a few minutes I realize the mosquitoes aren’t biting him but they are tearing my ass up. So I ask him why these mosquitoes aren’t bothering him and he just laughs watching me miserably trying to keep these blood suckers off me.He throws me a bottle of women’s Avon Skin So Soft and says rub this on ya. Now I’m wondering is he really helping me or waiting to laugh how gullible I am. So I rub it all over me and now I smell like my Mom after a bath. So I tell em good night and I head to the boat ramp. I stop on the way to fish a little honey hole Mr Warner showed me months earlier. I fished the rest of the night with barely any mosquitoes bothering me. I went home and ordered a case of Skin So Soft. I cherish all the little secrets I could pry out of Mr Warner. He was one GREAT fisherman!!
