Grampa, Ronald Paul, 76, of Hollywood, passed away January 7, 2015 with his family by his side. He was born February 20, 1938, in Cleveland, Ohio to Italian immigrants Claudio and Edvice Grampa. The family moved to South Florida when he was a young boy, settling in Dania. Ronnie attended Dania Elementary School and graduated from South Broward High School in 1956. He later attended the University of Florida where he was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity. His family started Grampa’s Bakery in Dania in 1957. He joined them after college in the family business, eventually expanding and adding the restaurant to the small bakery. He was a hard worker, constantly striving to excel, and eventually established Grampa’s Bakery & Restaurant as a South Florida landmark. One of his proudest moments was when the restaurant was showcased on the popular and successful Food Network hit “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives” with Guy Fieri. Ron is survived by his wife of 52 years, Carol, three daughters, Debbie Jeff, Cheryl, and Pam Chad, as well as brother, Robert Grampa Eleanor. He was preceded in death by his brother, Clyde Grampa, Sr. He was blessed with five grandchildren, who were the absolute joys of his life, Christina, Evan, Logan, Braeden and Cameron. He was an amazing man and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. The visitation service will be held on Sunday, January 11, 2015 from 5-8 p.m. at Boyd Panciera Family Funeral Care, 6400 Hollywood Blvd. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, January 12, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Church of the Little Flower, 1805 Pierce St., Hollywood, followed by entombment at Hollywood Memorial Gardens.
