As children, we can’t comprehend or fully realize the meaning of a grandmother’s love. How wise she is, how much patience she has, or how much guidance she gives us by her example and by her helpful caring ways. But as we mature we do finally understand and we can look back and see through older eyes and wiser hearts her unconditional love, devotion, and family loyalty. It’s these and many other things that make us realize how lucky we have been and how lucky we are to have this amazing woman – our grandmother – as the centered root of strength and love in our life.

Granny I’m so sorry you are no longer with us but I know while here you lived a good life. It was a blessing for me to have met you, share some laughs with you And just enjoy you talk. I will always remember that you were the original to name me Sheriff. That in itself will always make me smile. You are gone but surely will never be forgotten. One love.

I haven’t seen Granny since New York as a child, yet I always remember her as being so sweet and always having a smile on her face…In these last few years though, I have so enjoyed seeing that face and that smile in numerous family photos and all I could do was smile back at them and think ” Look at granny!!!” Just made my heart warm..Granny was one of those people that you just always imagined would be there, so when I had heard that she had passed, I was deeply saddened. I know that she is gone in the here and now, but will forever remain in the spirit and the always…Rest now Granny, you’ve earned it..We will always love you..

My oldest memories are filled with you when I was a child. You taught me about love and family, to think of others before myself, and about right from wrong, to never think I’m better than others for we are all equals. Lessons I’ve tried my best to live up to but it’s a daily challenge that I must consciously remind myself of. I remember the long hugs and laying on your lap, and the comfort of your love. Growing up and moving away I lost way too many years from you, confused by surroundings that contradicted everything you once taught me. After what seemed a lifetime we reconnected and the joy and love you had for me never lost an ounce of what it once had….and my heart was overwhelmed by feelings I had all but forgotten. God blessed me with the greatest Grandmother anyone could ever have and it’s going to be difficult without you, but I know you are always in my heart and your love is always with me. Until we meet again, know that I cherish every memory of you!

Granny, you were always there for me for as long as I can remember. From taking me to work with you in White Plains to the day before you crossed over you were still asking me if I wanted tea before I went to work. My heart hurts now that you are no longer here in the physical but my spirit is happy as I know you are now free of all pain & suffering. I know you will always be watching over me along with the rest of our family & you will always live in my thoughts and in my heart. My love for you can never expire, words cannot measure the love I have for you. You are definitely an angel who was sent to earth to guide and lead us. I can only imagine what it will be like when I reunite with you again. I can’t be selfish though, it is time for you to experience everlasting life, love, peace, and happiness with the Lord & the rest of our family that has passed on. So till we meet again Granny “All my love for you, no love for nobody else, send a big kiss for you” -I kno you remember that!

Mommy I have waited 40 days and you didn’t give me a sign. I miss you tremendously but deep inside I know you had to leave the suffering and restlessness behind. My heart is broken and the house is empty, there isn’t one day I haven’t thought about you . I did my best tedious at times but I won’t have done it any other way and would do it all over again . I am so happy I was able to give you your last bath on God’s earth. Rest now and know that you are missed and love ❤️.
