Rose J. Trapana, age 88, a long time resident of Hollywood, passed away February 28, 2016. Born on December 6, 1927, in Brooklyn, New York, to the late Carlo Maltese and Marietta (Sclafani) Maltese. She is also preceded in death by 1 brother and 2 sisters. Rose is survived by the love of her life, James Trapana; son, Dr. Ron Trapana and his wife, Maryrose; daughter, Denise Trapana and 3 grandchildren. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 2, 2016, from 7:30-8:30 AM at Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care, Hollywood Boulevard Chapel. Funeral Mass will be at Nativity Catholic Church at 9:00 AM, followed by Interment at Hollywood Memorial Gardens Cemetery. As expression of sympathy donations may be made to the Department of Orthopedics C.O.R.E. (305) 243-2042 in Memory Of Rose J. Trapana in lieu of flowers.

Dearest Aunt Rosie had a sweet white poodle named Snuggles – now I have one. Aunt Rosie was such fun to visit. She made delicious spaghetti with meat sauce. We all loved it – especially my Dad. She told us how she makes the sauce, simmering it for hours and then skimming off the extra fat. I always make sauce according to Aunt Rosie’s directions.

I know how I felt when my mother died, and how much I frequently think about her now and I know how you must feel and will continue to feel.
