Rose Marie Venezia, 97 March 23, 1914 – September 24, 2011

A resident of Pembroke Pines, Florida since 1982, Rose passed away peacefully in her home under hospice care. Rose was born in Brooklyn, New York and resided most of her life in Oceanside, New York.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years, the late John Louis Venezia, her son, John Nicholas Venezia, sister-in-law, Fay Barbera, many loving nieces and nephews and her dear friends.

Rose attended Business College and held a civil service position with the U.S. Maritime Commission during World War II. In Oceanside, she was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary. When she moved to Florida, she volunteered her time at Barry College as an office assistant.

Among her hobbies, Rose loved playing the piano, being with her family and having fun with friends. Rose touched the lives of many people with her smile and generosity and had a wonderful sense of humor.

Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Thursday, September 29, 2011, from 3 until 7 PM at Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care, 1600 N. University Drive, Pembroke Pines, Florida. There will be a funeral mass of the resurrection at St. Stephen Roman Catholic Church, Miramar, Florida on Friday, September 30, 2011, at 2:00 PM.

Aunt Rose always gave us all a loving, kind, generous, and happy feeling whenever we were graced with her presence. She was very funny and always cheered us up. My family’s prayers are for her dear soul and for you as we can only imagine the terrible loss this is for you. We love you and want you to know that we are always here for you.
