Ruby Maud Officer, a life well lived. “Aunt Ruby” to those who were close to her was born July 22,1927. Ruby joined her Heavenly Father on September 28, 2021.
Ruby migrated from Jamaica to the USA in the 1960’s and worked in Healthcare. She was very active, energetic, and fun to be around. Ruby was a natural comedian and an extrovert. She would also bring out the laughter in you no matter where she was. She enjoyed company and entertained in her home. Everyone was welcomed. She loved to cook and was always ready to feed us hungry or not. You couldn’t resist as she made sure you had something to eat before leaving her home. Her specialty was her famous ginger beer drink that you could never get enough of. It was delicious you would want it every day.
She maintained a loving relationship with family members near and far. Her cousin Joyce and friends Enid and Maurice were Ruby’s inner circle. Where you would find one you will find all. A very close relationship that was maintained for many years. She was always looking for opportunities to served. Although Ruby didn’t have children of her own, she served as a mother figure and helped provide financial support for multiple family members. Ruby enjoyed traveling, dressing up, and dancing with her companion Mr. Wilson. She was active in her church Holy Family Episcopal Church until her health declined. Ruby remained in her home during the last phase of her life. Ruby’s care was entrusted to family members Michelle and Janet who both loved and cared for Ruby until her passing.
Ruby touched so many lives with her generosity and compassion and will always be remembered forever.
Ruby Officer dies leaving Joyce McLean, Anna Marie Wadsworth, Winston Dacosta, Michelle Brown, Taska Brown, Al Brown, Carrol Clarke Jones, Janet Negair, Late Lester Simpson, Patricia Simpson, Junior Simpson, Collin Simpson, Late Robert Milton Simpson, Robert Simpson, David Simpson, Teesha Simpson, Racquell Simpson, Enoch Wilson, and many other family and friends.
Visitation to be held on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 from 11:00 AM until Prayer Service at 12:00 PM at Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care, 1600 N. University Drive, Pembroke Pines, Florida 33024, to be officiated by Reverend Horace Ward of Holy Family Episcopal Church. Immediately followed by graveside services at Vista Memorial Gardens, Miami Lakes, Florida.

Aunt Ruby, you were special in our lives. I remember the days we as children look forward to you coming back to Jamaica on vacation. For me I was enthusiastic because I know I was getting something new from foreign from aunt Ruby. There will always be fun memories of you and I cherish them. Rest In Peace Aunty

Aunt Ruby, YOUR LOVE AND CARING HEART WE WILL NEVER FORGET. I REMEMBER I WAS ALWAYS HAPPY HEARING AUNT RUBY COMING SOON,I ALWAYS LOOK FORWARD TO SEE AUNT RUBY, BECAUSE MY GRANDMA AND ME GETTING SOMETHING FROM FOREIGN. THAN YOU AUNTY FOR THE LOVE THAT YOU SHOWED ME. I CHERISH THOSE MOMENTS WHEN YOU WERE LIVING IN KINGSTON AND MY GRANDMA WOULD DRESS ME UP WITH NEWS PAPER IN MY STOMACH TO KEEP DOWN MOTION SICK TRAVELLIND ON THE BUS AROUND! Miss Ruby Officerwas a powerful woman of God.She was one of the first person my brother and I met when we first attended Holy Family Church. She was our mentor, kind hearted, and loving. She was true to loving her neighbor as herself. She would give help at all times. She was a force in helping to build our Sanctuary. Walk good Ms. Ruby , you will be missed. We give God thanks for sending you to us. God’s mercy to her family 🙏🏾💜☮️
