Rupert O.A. Terrier, age 93, passed away peacefully in Lakeland, FL on May 28, 2015. He formerly resided in N. Miami and Hollywood. Rupert is survived by Dorothy Roe his loving wife of 72 years, five children: Michael Gladys of Saluda, VA, Jean Ruzycki Terry of Boynton Beach, FL, Yvonne Carter Cleve of Lakeland, FL, Pamela Terrier of Pembroke Pines, FL, and Dwayne Wendy of Chesterfield, VA, as well as 9 loving grandchildren and 9 adoring great grandchildren. Rupert, born in Jamaica, BWI was commissioned by King George the Sixth into the British Colonial Forces in 1942. Rising through the ranks he became Captain in the Jamaican Battalion, then Camp Commandment of New Castle Hill Station. Upon resigning his commission in 1955, Rupert moved his family to Miami, FL, where he worked for the Miami Herald until retirement.

Rupert enjoyed his family and the many parties he and Dorothy hosted and attended. His sense of humor and unending love flowed seamlessly into his family life with constant expressions of love and generosity. He was a truly wonderful patriarch. He was the spiritual leader of the family through example and the family remains a living testimony to his life. God Speed!

Visitation will be at Boyd-Panciera Funeral Home, 6400 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood, FL on Friday, June 5, 2015, 6-8pm. The funeral service will be held at the Charismatic Episcopal Church of the Resurrection, 6701 SW 25th Street, Miramar, FL on Saturday, June 6 at 10am. Bishop David Simpson officiating. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Rupert’s life. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the church’s building fund.
