On October 12^th 1925, a star was born: Wilfred “Sonny” Cox born in San Fernando, Trinidad to parents Harry and Amanda. His early life was not easy, but he made the best of it. As a young man, he had a number of jobs, and eventually became a barber. Over time and many struggles, he worked to ultimately own barber saloons in both Trinidad and in New York. An amazing father, brother, uncle and friend, he had a great sense of humor even in unpleasant situations. He has helped many through rough times, sometimes by providing a room to stay, or financially, or just offering true to heart advice. He loved the beach, taking care of birds, and gardening. He also loved music especially calypso, and even played the bass guitar in a band back in the day. He leaves behind his loving brother George, eight surviving children and many other caring family members and friends. He will be missed.
